The Diversity Team aims to continually improve the way Council responds to the priorities of its Multicultural, Disability and Indigenous communities.

The Diversity Team aims:

To continually improve the way Council responds to the priorities of its Multicultural, Disability and Indigenous communities.
How? By developing and implementing policies and action plans, and delivering key projects.

To have good solid working relationships across Council.
How? Working groups, joining other groups, contributing to things not in our sphere of responsibility.

To ensure that multicultural, indigenous and disability communities are considered by every Council area (creating a culture of inclusiveness).
How? Developing good working relationships and capacity building, developing trust and respect.

To build a team reputation with the community of being an approachable area of Council.
How?: Attending face to face meetings, networking.

For Maribyrnong City Council to be a “show piece” for access and inclusion.
How? Innovative and dynamic projects.

The team consists of Diversity Coordinator, Disability Planner, Diversity Planner, Metro Access and Diversity Support
